Now, NIST is working to develop a more accurate and reliable diagnostic test for COVID-19. Researchers at NIST have developed non-infectious synthetic gene fragments from the virus that can be used to measure and improve the sensitivity of diagnostic tests. These advances can help manufacturers produce quicker and more accurate tests that are easier to administer.
